I'm Ely!

Hi, I’m Ely — the heart behind Ely Jo Photography. I’m an extroverted, detail-loving, Jesus-loving nursing student at NDSU who fell in love with photography years ago and never looked back. What started as picking up a camera turned into a passion for capturing people in the most meaningful moments of their lives.

I’m drawn to photography because I get to be there — witnessing milestones, transitions, and seasons that matter. Whether you’re celebrating who you’re becoming, the love you’re growing, or the life you’re building, I don’t take it lightly that I get to document it for you.

My sessions are relaxed, intentional, and centered around connection. I want you to feel comfortable, confident, and completely yourself — like you’re hanging out with a friend who just happens to have a camera. I care deeply about creating an experience that feels personal, thoughtful, and fun from start to finish.

Outside of photography, you’ll usually find me planning everything down to the details, listening to country music, working out, or spending time with friends. I love all things wellness and genuinely enjoy getting to know the people I work with — because the better I know you, the better your photos will feel.
